The Hedrick House

Imagine a place where adults with physical disabilities could live together in independence, supporting one another in community. At The Hedrick House, we provide more than a place of physical safety and accessibility.  We provide an opportunity for those with normal cognitive abilities and significant physical disabilities to strive to reach their God-given potential in a place they can call home.

“The Hedrick House is more than just a room with a bed, it’s about quality of life.”

A Place to Thrive

For Residents

Welcome Home

When was the last time you felt truly independent? What if you could live everyday on your own terms, with the safety and support of a community? The Hedrick House is designed for you. We exist to build a community of individuals who long to live independently, together. Our dreams are your dreams. Our goal is support and encourage you through a safe, accessible affordable, independent lifestyle.

For Caregivers

We’re Here for You

To those who spend sleepless nights caring for those you love, we hear you. We see your commitment and we exist  to come alongside you by providing a safe, accessible and affordable independent-living residential facility. Through The Hedrick House, your loved one will discover independence and community, giving you peace of mind and freedom. We are more than a building, we are a home. We are more than a facility, we are a community.

Our Plans Today

Program Development – This includes the size and layout of the living quarters and common spaces that provide an inviting atmosphere in a community environment catering to those with physical disabilities. This includes identifying the amenities to be incorporated into the design of the facility, both inside and outside.

Site Selection – This extremely important aspect of our community considers a variety of factors including safety, and access to public transportation, shopping, medical care, and employment. We also prioritize opportunities for meaningful social interaction.

Financing and Fundraising – As with any major capital project, these issues are central to the successful development of a sustainable facility.

Studies and Assessments – We are evaluating feasibility studies and conducting assessments of the needs to determine the multi-faceted requirements of the facility.

Architectural Concerns – We are working with experienced architects familiar with developing independent living for various demographic populations. We are examining the pros and cons of various floor plans to meet a variety of needs.

Support our mission.

Our Dreams For Tomorrow

Our dreams are big!

We dream of fostering independence for adults with physical disabilities who have the cognitive ability to advocate for themselves and direct their own care.  This involves providing an inviting environment that gives our residents access to a community that not only enfolds them, but also encourages involvement in the greater community.  The goal?  Enjoying life to the fullest!

We dream of creating a place that alleviates the enormous physical demands and emotional weight of the “What will happen when I can no longer provide the needed care?” question that haunts the families of those with disabilities.

We dream of creating mentoring situations where young adults can thrive emotionally and physically with the knowledge that they will be better prepared for the time when the inevitable arises and their family can no longer provide their care.

We dream of creating a community that will serve as a template for others who want to build their own version of The Hedrick House.
